Is it worth doing your own make up for your wedding?

i dont like people touching my face and doing my make up but i want to look good for our pictures! has anyone done their own make up?? wat was your experience?? should i just suck it up and let some1 do it?Is it worth doing your own make up for your wedding?
I feel the same way! I really feel uncomfortable with having makeup put on my face -- it's so freaky!

But I don't wear makeup at all, so I don't really know how to do it. That's why I'm having it done professionally. If you do it everyday, then I'm sure you can manage it on your own. I can never tell the difference in photos between someone who had it done professionally or someone who did their own (or had a friend do theirs). I think of it as a service for people who want something special and different or people who don't know how to do it themselves. (Or people who like having things done for them and like to feel ';pampered'; -- but it doesn't sound like you'd enjoy it at all!)Is it worth doing your own make up for your wedding?
I did my own make-up, and I think I looked great! I went two the make-up counters at a department store. One lady did the one half of my face and the other did the other half per my discussion with them. I purchased the makeup for the side I liked and did it myself on my wedding day. I still use the make-up cause I love it!

It's not difficult to do your own make-up if you're used to applying your own. However, if you're not a person who wears make-up, have someone else do it.

Also generally speaking, when doing wedding makeup veer toward a more natural or in-between look. Wedding day make-up shouldn't appear too dark or heavy.
If it's your own make-up, you're fairly sure it's clean. If it's the make-up artist's stock, think of how many other people have used that make-up, and those brushes...

I prefer doing my own make-up rather than let other people do it. I always get huge zits after events where I have a make-up artist do my make-up.
Yes it is. I'm a wedding/event planner and i've seen some brides makeup look better than the person they're paying $300 to. You don't have to be a pro is what I tell the girls. Practice months before your wedding and check out youtube. I would never pay anyone to do my makeup. Also if you have a friend who's makeup always looks nice you can ask her to do your makeup and not to buy you a gift (left that be her gift to you).
i think you should live it up and let someone do it. but if you reaaaly dont like people touching you then do it yourself
