I'd suggest getting a makeup consultation ahead of time, whether with a makeup artist at a spa or with someone at the dept. store counter (or a consultant with a company like Mary Kay or BeautiControl). The services can range from free to pricey. Pick a consultation that fits in your budget, then practice beforehand (and make sure you don't have any allergic reactions to new products you might buy and try), then do your own makeup on your wedding.
I'd suggest getting someone to do your hair on the day of.Should I do my own hair and make up on my wedding day to save money?
Yes do your own. I went to the beauty shop two weeks early to practice on my hair. But the day of the wedding I went did my hair no problem and they started on my make up and I was allergic to the make up they was using, my eyes started getting really red and swollen but she kept applying the make up. I washed it all off and left with red eyes and swollen. I toke medicine and did my own make up. Some times they make you up too much and you look fake.Should I do my own hair and make up on my wedding day to save money?
Well if you are good at it, go ahead.
But then again, you get married only once (I pray so). So go ahead and get it done professionally.
You want to be able to relax on your wedding day and not feel stressed out about anything... So splurge remember this is the one day that is yours and you don't want to regret anything... So spend on extra $100 to make everything right and enjoyable...
If you are looking to save money, you could ask a Mary Kay sales person to do your make-up or make an appointment at a make-up counter, such as Clinique or Lancome, but they will all expect you to buy something.
As far as hair, you could check with local salons to see if they have any apprentices or trainees that will do your hair for less money.
It's really not worth it to go the cheap route for your wedding day, though. You want to look your best in pictures and in person.
I did my own makeup on my wedding day, however, I am a Mary Kay Consultant so I have some training. Most MK consultants will do your makeup on that day, however, we are all independent contractors so what each consultant offers may differ from the next. I personally do the makeup free for a bride. I hope this helps and if I can help you in any other way, please feel free to email me at jennrego@marykay.com
No NO NO u go pay high dollar girl and look your best!
no...like disney was saying..you'll be too stressed out to do anything. i remembered when i got married i was stressed out about the wedding cake and the food i do had my make up artist with me he was fine but then we hd trouble with the eyelash extension i got even more stressed out. if i didn't get a make up artist, i'd me more stressed out so if you were to have trouble with the make up at least an experienced professional (a calm one) will overcome it with out involving us the bride.he'll know what to do.
about the part where some people may have sensitivity ti a certain product, you should get a trial and make sure what kind of make up they're using, i did coz i have ultra sensitive skin and they were supposed to give you a serum usually azulene to apply to avoid/minimized sensitivity. if they don't supply/provide then you can just get one on your
own.
No. I was considering it, but it's really really not worth it.
You'll be so stressed on the day, and have more than enough to think about already. Let someone else worry about make-up and hair, just sit back and relax while it's being done. I am SO glad I left it to professionals, and got to relax while they were doing it.
Besides, a wedding is so expensive anyway, so the little money you save by doing your own make-up and hair won't make much difference.
Make sure you do a trial though, with both make-up and hair, so you know they'll do it just right. And make sure you tell them what you like and not. That way you'll end up looking the way YOU want to look. GOOD LUCK!!
I think I might on my day, cas i do my own makeup better and i don't trust anyone else to do it how i like it, even if i let them do ahead of time before the big day. But it depends on the stress level. If i'm stressed out i can always plan aheah a little and have tons of people to help.
i did my own make-up, but that's because pro make-up is *scary*... don't want to look like a make-up counter girl... my hair cost me 拢17 (about $30 if you're in the US) for an upstyle and a few flowers in it. If you can't run to that...well, how special a day do you want it to be? Have you got a friend who can do hair? hair and makeup not usually big expenses when you're getting married -- I was more worried about the bar bill, me, but then that's my friends and family for you!
NO!!! spending a few extra dollars is well worth it.... LESS STRESS.....
If you're comfortable with it then I would say yes! When I got Married at 21 I had been doing my own makep-up and Hair since I was 12 years old, so who better qualified then yourself? Look through some Wedding Hair-Do Magazines for a guide to help you! Relax and enjoy yourself and good luck to you!
i usually dont like the way professionals do make up.its not even that hard to do hair and make up so just save the money and do it yourself
iam a master cosmetoiogist an on my wedding day i did my own hair it looked good but it was every day it should be as special as it can be the pics will last a life time get it done buy some one else then if it looks funny in years to come you dident do it someone else did kinda lets you off the hook and gives alittle gigle
you must be kidding me? no way. this is one of the most special and important days in your life and hopefully it will only be happening once so save up some money and spend it on yourself. you already have enough stress on your wedding day...do you really want more by adding the pressure if i will be able to get my hair and make up right?
Yeah, sure you can. The advantage of doing that aside from being able to save money is that you can have complete control on how you want to look like on your wedding pictures. I did my own hair and make-up and it was alright. I'm not so much into the super coiffed look.
