I'm going to pay $50.00, not including tip, to get my hair done and my sister is doing my makeup for free. :-) Oh, and I live in North Florida.
I think I paid $40 for a curly updo but that was back in 2000 in MA. other than that the bride always paid for my hair and makeup but I know it's not their responsibility to do so.
i paid $65 + tip for my hair updo in Rochester,MI. Make up for free. My sister is a make up artist in hollywood.
Hair and Make-up $350.00
With trial runs, I'm spending close to $350 on hair and make-up. The way I see it, you're spending money on a photographer, and you pictures will last forever, you should look your best and not take any risks, so go with the pricer experts.
I live in Chicago, but getting married in NY, outside Albany. The average prices I could find for reputable salons in the area were $70 and up for hair, and $65 and up for make-up.
$0 My mom did my make-up, and I just wore my hair down.
Mind you my 25th anniversary is this week, but I had a makeup artist from downtown Chicago do my makeup for $100. I was lucky because one of my bridesmaids was a hairdresser so she did my hair and kept it lovely all day for me.
My advice to you is to call salons and makeup artists and get prices. You can also ask around to family and friends to see if they know of anyone who does it that would like to do it for you. The good thing about that is, the person who finds a stylist for you can give that service as all or part of your wedding gift.
No matter what you do, don't experiment on your wedding day, if you do your own makeup which many brides do, practice a couple weeks before and have someone take some photos of you with and without flash. Sometimes it looks OK in reality but the pictures could look way different because of the lighting.

We had a destination wedding, so I did my own hair and makeup. I just got a fresh cut right before we went away, and did it the normal way.
I'm in Columbus ohio. I paid 45 for my hair and 300 dollars for makeup but that included two of my girls they helped pay because they wanted it, it wasn't required. The makeup was airbrushed, therefore more expensive
My only suggestions are if you have a friend who does hair or makeup for a living they may cut you a deal.

My hair is going to cost $100.00 w/out tip.
My make up is being done by BobbyBrown and is costing $150...I spent $100 already for the touch up make up they suggest you get...personally I think it's a rip, but I got my trial and it looks so good, oh and that also included a few fake eyelashes!
