Wedding day make-up?

I will try to make this as short as possible. I am getting married in July and am starting to get a little worried about my make up situation. I don't know anyone who is able and I have been considering going it myself but I have tendencies to go over board when I shouldn't and just right when I want a reaction. Any tips on the eye make up? The best way to make them stand out and still keep it natural? Serious responses only please! Thanks in advance.Wedding day make-up?
I had an outdoor July wedding at 6 PM in the central valley in California, it was a warm evening at 84 degrees. You don't want your make-up to start melting on you, but you don't want to look washed out either. I'm a cosmetologist and I love to do wedding make-up when I get the chance. Here's my advice. You're going to want to do your eyes before your final powder so you can make any corrections without having to re-do your foundation ( get a light but good coverage creme to powder that you can re-apply as needed for your reception : I reccomend Avon's creme to powder or M.A.C. Studio Tech creme to powder )

Get a really good liquid liner in black or dark brown or even a deep plum. Line only the top lid as close to your lashes as possible. You don't want it to be a thick line, just noticeable enough to you that it looks like you have very thick dark lash roots. And as yuck as it sounds, the best way to define it once you have it on is to stick a Q-tip in your mouth for a sec to dampen it and then lightly run it across to smooth the line. Next use a lash curler and hold each side for 12 to 20 seconds depending how easily they curl for you. Apply Waterproof mascara in Black. Use a lash brush to separate and part any clumps. Add a second coat only if necessary, keep this handy for your reception also as you may wipe eyes without thinking about it. Waterproof won't run, but it can smudge and can flake if you touch eyes a lot.

Eye shadow Color: don't use cream shadow, only powder!

Depending on your skin tone :

Fair: Pale pink to highlight lids and brow bone with a grayish plum in the crease

Med: Mid pink to peach to highlight bow and lid, plum or taupe in the crease

Dark: Just lighter than your skin tone to highlight brow and lid and a contrasting rose or plum in the crease.

You want to compliment your eyes and face color, but you don't want people to say here comes the brides face...it's all about the dress!

Blush should be a glowy pink on the bone just below eyes and deeper peach or rose below the cheek bone, only enough to give slight color and definition. The pale pink gives a bright young look to skin.

Lips can go either way at this point. MAC has 3 great neutral lip liners that can be worn as lipsitck or that you can lighten with a paler lipstick. The color names are Whirl , Spice, and Stone.. try them at the counter to see for yourself. Also the MAC website has actual faces done in palates for a guideline if you really want to see it before you do it.

Congrats and good luck.Wedding day make-up?
I would use Elizabeth Arden Defining Mascara in Pure Black, and a colored liquid eyeliner. I would just use foundation, and absolutely no blush. For your lips I would use a sparkling bright pink lipgloss. And for the finishing touches I would use some kind of sparkle spray to spray on your face to make it snappy! Good Luck and I hope this helps you!
A good thing might be to go to a dept. store where they do makeup makeovers, for tips and samples.
Local malls offer free make-up. Get one done ahead of time to see if you like it. HAve it done on wedding day if you do.

I say take this time to go to a local mall and check out the girls at the make up counter and see whose style you like best. if this is not an option, consult a local Mary Kay or Avon lady that will be more than happy to help you find the look that you are going for .i don;t recommend doing it yourself because you will have enough to think about.Above all else, enjoy yourself, it's your day.I hope this helps!
I suggest going to a local make up counter at the mall, and they can do your eyes, or your whole face for a small fee, sometimes free, or if you purchase one of the products that they used on your face.
I set up an appointment at Merle Norman, and the owner showed me how to do my own make up. I love Merle Norman anyway!!
